Sticks ‘n’ Sushi to open in Islington this September

On September 28th, Sticks’n’Sushi brings its unique blend of sushi and grilled sticks to Islington’s Upper Street, marking the restaurant’s first location in North London.

Known for its fusion of Danish and Japanese cuisine, Sticks’n’Sushi offers an extensive menu featuring everything from creative sushi rolls to mouthwatering grilled meats, plant-based dishes, and more.

The Islington opening will be the group’s 14th UK location, following their recent launch in Richmond earlier this year.

The menu showcases signature dishes such as the Black Cod house roll—miso-marinated black cod paired with vegetable chips and pickled red onion.

There’s also a wide variety of sashimi, tartares, and curated set menus to suit any taste or budget. For those who prefer their food from the grill, highlights include the Ibérico Secreto (miso-cured black Iberian pig with lemon) and the luxurious Wagyu Yaki made with Japanese Wagyu beef.

Alongside the food, Sticks’n’Sushi boasts an impressive cocktail and sake menu. Signature drinks like the Shiso Ha (tequila, shiso leaf, elderflower) and Purple Rain (Japanese gin, violet liqueur, yuzu tonic) are perfect pairings for the menu’s bold flavors.

The restaurant’s interior design is a harmonious mix of Japanese minimalism and Scandinavian elegance. Earthy tones and natural materials create a warm, inviting atmosphere, reflecting the restaurant’s dedication to ‘Omotenashi,’ the Japanese art of hospitality.
